"Happy Day of the Dead!"

Hello Dear Stamper Friends:

Today, I am bringing to you a Mexican holiday celebrated mainly throughout Mexico, Central America and some parts of the world. The "day of the dead" and the altars made for this occasion...

I posted this project as part of my contributions as a design team member at Memory Box, in the "Outside the Box" blog, last Friday November 2nd, Day of the Dead!

NOTE: In Mexico, “death” is something to be celebrated.

And making or giving away "skulls" are part of the festivity...
This holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and relatives who have died. The celebration takes place on November 1, [in connection with the Catholic holiday All Saints Day] and on November 2 [All Souls Day], which is today!
besides visiting cemeteries and churches, the tradition includes creating private altars honoring the deceased. These colorful and beautiful altars are built at homes, public places, schools and at churches as well...the altars are decorated with pictures and memorabilia of the departed ones, with sugar skulls, flowers (Marigolds), with candles and with the favorite food of the deceased.

This shaped card is called a “Tent” card, great to display die cuts and can be used for many occasions...
The hat for the skeleton was taken from The "gentleman leaping" die from Memory Box

Instructions:
1- Die cut the front of your card with the die “Grand Gothic Window” to make the window
2- For the inside: use the left over from the “window/aperture” for the inside of your card…see the “side” picture.
Stamp the “Distressed Tag” on this left over "window" and write your message.
3- Die Cut all your pieces
4- Assemble the card, then add embellishments
